Valentines Day 2011

This year, we weren't going to do much for Valentines Day, but decided last minute to get each other gifts (go shopping together) and do dinner. I'm glad we did, it's always fun to have an excuse to celebrate something.We celebrated over the weekend and did some fabulous shopping, my favorite, dinner at Texas Roadhouse (which turned into a 2 hour wait!!) and then cuddled up for a nice movie at home. PERFECT Valentines for me.

I forgot to take my camera with me over the weekend or take pictures at all so I'm now having to improvise.

Some new William Rast Jeans and flats! I've been in dyer need of flats for awhile now so I'm so excited. The St. George mall has SOO many choices (not) so it was quite easy to decide on my 2 pairs.

Yesterday, on Valentines, Jacob worked so I surprised him when he got home with this:

Nothing huge, but something! Jacob had left those flowers on my car the other day while I was at the gym! So cute!

Claire gave daddy this for Valentines:

Yes, this took a few tries to get a good one, but I think it turned out pretty cute. Underneath Claire it says "8 Mo." and it struggles, greatly. But I finally had the hand and foot print how I wanted it so I wasn't about to re-do the whole thing.

I also made this fun treat:

Found it on someones blog and thought it was adorable! Went to the store for sprinkles and every red/pink item was MIA from the store! So I had to improvise. Still delicious!

Lastly, I made these adorable coupon books, which I also found on a blog. (You can now see what I do in my spare time, copy others, haha)

I changed up the coupons from what she had, but I thought it was so fun. You don't have to spend a million dollars in one day and can have presents all year long if you wanted; they don't expire for 1 year! :) Claire's were a little harder, considering her age, but I just personalized them for each person.

To top off our night last night, our Maxima died on Jacob on his way home from work. Lovely car problems; could do without those... FOREVER! All in all, fabulous holiday! Sometimes think Valentines is overrated, but enjoy it all the while!

Day #14

JACOB:

14. I love you because you are you. You chose me to be your wife and I couldn't be happier!

CLAIRE:

14. I love you because you are just so darn cute. Your mommas little pal. You are ALWAYS so happy and entertaining. You already have the funnest personality. Can't imagine my life without you!

Day #12 & #13

JACOB:

12. I love when you plan surprises but then get too excited and tell me about them. It's so cute to see the excitement on your face and all the thought that has gone into it.

13. I love listening to you talk to Claire and teach her things about life. Although she can't really understand yet, she's got one heck of a teacher, lucky little girl.

CLAIRE:

12. I love your 2 new little teeth. They are so dang cute. You are learning how to chew and its so funny to watch.

13. I love how much you trust in mom and dad. Although you don't realize it yet, you've trusted us with a lot. I hope it always stays that way.

Day #11

JACOB:

11. I love how much we can enjoy doing nothing together. Some of the best times are spent relaxing and just enjoying each others company.

CLAIRE:

11. I LOVE when you giggle. You fight it like the dickens, but when you do it, I LOVE it; nothing cuter!

Day #10

JACOB:

10. I love laying in bed at night and giggling with you like I'm 12. Apparently being tired makes everything that much funnier. No matter how tired you are, you'll check the doors for me at 2 in the morning or go downstairs to make sure I'm not hearing things. You are amazing!

CLAIRE:

10. I love laying in bed with you in the mornings and snuggling up and touching nosies. Your so cuddly in the morning and love playing with mommas face. Perfect way to start the day

Day #9

JACOB:

9. I ADORE watching with you Claire! Cutest. Thing. Ever. You are such a good daddy, our kids are lucky to have you.

CLAIRE:

9. I love the look on your face when I come get you out of bed in the mornings. I love the way you recognize me as momma, and your whole face just lights up. Makes my day!

So... I meant to start this on February 1st, hmmm, 8 days late... oh well, still doing it! I just have a bit of catch up to do! Since it is Valentines this month, I wanted to write 14 things I love about:

this sweet man.......

and this adorable little one.......

My life would not be the same without them. I wanted to do one a day, but since I'm behind, I'll have to do 8!! today and then carry on from there!

JACOB

1. Never a dull moment with you, always making me laugh
2. Your such a hard worker. Juggling 10 hour work days sometimes 6 days a week, full time school and your family and never complaining about it
3. Would do anything and everything for your family
4. You let me shop shop shop because you know it makes me happy
5. You understand me like no one else does
6. Your so easy going and laid back
7. You compliment me daily and make sure I know how much you love me
8. You have a drive for life, always wanting to make the best of every day

CLAIRE
1. All you have to do is smile and I forget every worry of the world
2. You are learning so many things, makes momma proud
3. You are such a HAPPY baby ALL THE TIME
4. You are getting so big and smart,and cuter by the day
5. You are always talking and jabbering about everything, such a fun noise to have in our home
6. You loving running errands with momma and playing with me all day while dad is at work
7. You pull the funniest faces when you try new foods, makes mom and dad laugh
8. You have the sweetest spirit about you, you make it almost impossible to be anything but happy

Alright, now I'm all caught up! I have so many amazing people in my life, I am one lucky girl! Hope we can all have a happy Valentines this year with the people we love!

DONE!

NO more swaddling, we are DONE!! Honestly, I'm not sure why I didn't do this sooner! Claire is in heaven, can you tell?
She sleeps with her legs crossed and her arms high above her head with the blanket lightly over her face, all of which she couldn't do while being wrapped up like a mummy! I almost feel bad for doing it for so long! haha

(AND don't mind her "sheet", diaper leaked on her sheets so they are in the wash!)

She was starting to squirm out of them and I think was just done, therefore so was I! Made 2 new blankets, put away the swaddling ones, and away we go! One more new found freedom for her!
