pOp!!

....This is about the only word that comes to mind when I look in the mirror these days. I am a mere 5 days from my delivery date and boy do I look it! Wowzers! So, just for my remembrance I am posting a pic of my belly at 39 weeks and 1 Day....

There is honestly not another inch available in my belly for growth room for this little girl, I'm sure of it, so it's a good thing I'm almost done! My Dr. appointment yesterday gave me great hopes of having this baby in the next few days, so now I guess we just continue to wait. Jacob and I went on a 2 hour walk last night and are planning another one for tonight... anything to help at this point. I haven't gotten desperate yet and been tempted to drink castor oil or anything extreme... that won't start till I'm past due :) It's weird to think that any day now I won't be pregnant anymore. Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely excited but it's going to be weird... it's been me for so long! I'm actually going to be a real mom, having to be responsible for a child... oh boy!! Of course I've known this was coming all along but the closer and closer I get to delivering the more real it becomes. I couldn't be more excited! So whatever you choose to call it, calving (according to my husband)...hatching... popping or birthing, I sure hope it happens soon. Send good vibes my way! Hopefully my next post will be to introduce the little one!

Friend Baby Shower

My last baby shower was with my good friends this past weekend! It was so fun to get together and see everyone. Rach and Erin did such an awesome job on the whole thing... it was so cute! Thanks again.. I really do appreciate it! We had delicious food, which is always important of course, adorable decorations and good company! Thanks again to all those that could make it... we missed everyone that couldn't!

Hopefully my next post, or one of my next posts, will be the announcement that my little baby girl has finally arrived! Only 17 more days to go, can you even beleive it?? I feel like I've been pregnant forever yet it's all happening so fast at the same time. I'm hoping to have everything baby done by next week so I can just enjoy my last few days and not be stressing about getting things done. I'm working up till I have the baby so lets all just hope I don't go into labor at work. As fun as it sounds, I think i'll pass. Thanks again to everyone that has given gifts, advice and support! We love and appreciate you all! The next time I see alot of you i'll be a mom... scary! :)

Jacob's Birthday

For Jacob's birthday this year I decided I wanted to do something a little different then the usual dinner and a movie type thing. I looked online and found a fun envelope game that was somewhat cheesy for a guy probably but I thought it looked really fun, and he ended up loving it!

I made 3 envelopes... the first one he opened said "What to wear?" at the top and then had a list of malls he could choose from. Once he chose a mall he opened number 2 and according to what mall he chose from envelope #1 there was a list of 3 restaurants under that mall to choose from.

Once he chose a place to eat from those 3 choices he opened number 3 and it was a list of things to do after and he had to choose one of those!

So... we ended up going to the gateway mall and bought him some new Jeans and a shirt and he had to wear it that night. Then we went to Buca De Beppo and had amazing Italian food and then finished the night out with popcorn and a Red Box. We both ate entirely too much food at dinner and didnt have the energy to do much else. haha

It was so fun to go out and enjoy a date night together. He mostly got money for his birthday otherwise because he has about a million things he wants to buy that aren't cheap so he can add it to his saving pot.
I have the most amazing husband ever! It was so fun to take him out and spoil him on his birthday and show him just how much I love and care about him! I love you babe!

1st Family Baby Shower

My wonderful sisters and aunts threw me my first baby shower about a month ago and it was so fun!

(Please ignore the fact that this prego shirt makes me look huge!)
I can't even believe all the awesome gifts that we got! So many needed things and of course, adorable clothes that are always needed!

This little girl already has quite the wardrobe.... I have a feeling we are going to be playing dress up often so I can make sure she has a chance to wear them all before she gets too big! Thanks again everyone for coming and for hosting the shower! It was so fun!

Jacob's family also gave me a baby shower but I totally forgot to take my camera with me and get some pics! I'm so bummed! But I also want to say thanks to them as well! We wouldn't be able to get all ready for this little baby girl without them!

Re-finishing the Dresser

This past week/weekend we decided to take on a little project and refinish a dresser for the babies room! We have been looking on KSL for awhile for an older dresser that we could sand down and do whatever we wanted with but it took us FOREVER to find one that we liked! We finally found one and picked it up last Sunday! After much sanding and debating we decided to do a dark stain underneath and then do red over the top. It's hard to tell in the pics, but we wanted a kinda antuiqy look or just something different so the black stain is showing through the red paint and we LOVE it! It was kind of a scary process... the paint looked BRIGHT pink when we first started and I panicked (of course) but as it dried and we painted a second coat it definitely darkened up. It matches the bedding fabulously! The babies room is pretty much done, considering we aren't doing a full on nursery we didn't have a TON to do... but I think with what we had to work with it will be perfect! I hope our little girl just loves it! :)

Getting ready to spray on the sealer/shine! Had to wear these beautiful masks so I didn't breathe in the fumes.... I even made Jacob put one on so I didn't feel like an idiot!

Before the makeover

And after!

It was so fun to do a little project like this, nothing to intricate, but I've never done anything like this! Now I need to finish all the crafts I've started before she gets here... I only have 29 days!!! :)
