This past week/weekend we decided to take on a little project and refinish a dresser for the babies room! We have been looking on KSL for awhile for an older dresser that we could sand down and do whatever we wanted with but it took us FOREVER to find one that we liked! We finally found one and picked it up last Sunday! After much sanding and debating we decided to do a dark stain underneath and then do red over the top. It's hard to tell in the pics, but we wanted a kinda antuiqy look or just something different so the black stain is showing through the red paint and we LOVE it! It was kind of a scary process... the paint looked BRIGHT pink when we first started and I panicked (of course) but as it dried and we painted a second coat it definitely darkened up. It matches the bedding fabulously! The babies room is pretty much done, considering we aren't doing a full on nursery we didn't have a TON to do... but I think with what we had to work with it will be perfect! I hope our little girl just loves it! :)

Getting ready to spray on the sealer/shine! Had to wear these beautiful masks so I didn't breathe in the fumes.... I even made Jacob put one on so I didn't feel like an idiot!

Before the makeover

And after!
It was so fun to do a little project like this, nothing to intricate, but I've never done anything like this! Now I need to finish all the crafts I've started before she gets here... I only have 29 days!!! :)
